Why this blog?

Even though I use nice DSLRs in my job, I love the freedom I get with a point-and-shoot camera. They are reminiscent of the old rangerfinder 35mm cameras. Today's P&S camera are easy to use and often give great images without being bulky or intrusive.

My goal here is to explore what can be done with these small but wonderful cameras.

Night Vision

While driving home one night I took out my Canon SD 790 and tried to make a few images as I drove.  About the only adjustment I made to the camera was to set the white balance to tungsten.  I just held the camera out the window or in front of me.

I call this "driving at the speed of light."
