Why this blog?

Even though I use nice DSLRs in my job, I love the freedom I get with a point-and-shoot camera. They are reminiscent of the old rangerfinder 35mm cameras. Today's P&S camera are easy to use and often give great images without being bulky or intrusive.

My goal here is to explore what can be done with these small but wonderful cameras.

Self Portrait

Not long ago I was in Austin, Texas, attending a workshop. Joy didn't go, we usually go everywhere together, so I was pretty bored on the flight home. So what do I do when I have a little time on my hands? I listen to my iPod and play with my camera. All I had with me was my little Canon SD790 and no one else to photograph but me.
